Westside G3 Success for Sutton Tennis Academy

Sutton Tennis Academy witnessed some impressive results at the Westside G3 tournament. What a great week and well done to you the following:U10 Boys Winner- Freddie Plummer, U12 Boys Finalist- George Shields, U12 Boys Winner- Finn Doyle, U14 Boys Winner- Guy De Ouden, U16 Boys Winner- Zack Norman, U18 Boys Finalist- Daniel Siddall, U18 Boys Winner Zack Norman. 

Great results from Sutton Tennis Academy players

There has been some great results from our players at Sutton Tennis Academy.At the Messika Open ITF in Israel Lawrence Perrin made the final of the boys singles.In the G2 National Tour in Nottingham, Luke Stevenson won the boys U18 singles.  Gemma Heath came home with two trophies as the winner of the U14 and U16 singles.Finally, Kai-Luca Ampaw was 3rd at the NTC G2 U9 National Tour.Congratulations to you all!

STA doubles success

Last week, Sutton Tennis Academy (STA) held a Grade 2 tournament. All of our players performed well, and saw particular success in their doubles matches. 

David Brehme and his partner, Millen Hurrion, won the 16 & Under Boys event, defeating Oliver Mayo and Harrison Ridge 6-4 6-4. In the 18 & Under Girls event, Abi Amos and her partner, Emma Wilson, took home the title after beating Lauren Bishop and Lauren Watson-Steele 6-2 6-3. 

Heath wins Nike Winter National Tour

This past weekend, Gemma Heath won the Nike Invitational Winter National Tour at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton. Heath won the Girls 16 & Under tournament after qualifying through two Grade 2 events, whereby the 16 highest scorers made it through to the final. 

Brehme and Goodger make STA proud at Regional Tours

Last week, two of our male players performed exceptionally well at tournaments within the UK. Firstly, David Brehme won the 16 & Under Grade 3 Winter Regional Tour in Newport, Wales. He cruised into the final with easy, straight set wins. After losing the first set, he turned the match around to defeat Millen Hurrion 2-6 6-3 10-5.

Players gear up for busy Easter

Two of the players at Sutton Tennis Academy (STA) performed well at UK-based tournaments last week, while the remainder of our players are training hard in preparation for a hectic Easter tournament schedule.

STA boys and girls win County Cup

This past weekend saw a great performance from Sutton Tennis Academy (STA) players in the Boys and Girls County Cups which were held in Bromley and Bath, respectively. In the 16 & Under Boys competition, Remus Cope represented STA for the Kent team, which won the Cup, while Nicholas Nugent, Lawrence Perrin and Luke Stevenson played for the runner-up Surrey team. 

STA succeeds at BTs and National Tours

It was a busy half-term break for players at Sutton Tennis Academy (STA), with several of our players securing victories or obtaining near-misses.
Jizel Fernandes lost in the quarter-finals of the Aegon British Tour (BT) in Corby having made it through the qualifying round in straight sets. She was knocked out of the tournament by Ema Lazic 6-1 6-3.
