The STA team compete in France

Good Luck to Caleb Simms, Emile Hudd, Kristina Georgieva and Mika Stojanovic in France! The STA team went on Saturday with academy coach Craig Veal. Good luck also to Julian Lewis who is travelling with the LTA team. This will be a great International experience for all players. Best of Luck!

Four Sutton Tennis Academy players qualify for Roehampton Grade 1

Four Sutton Tennis Academy players got into Roehampton Grade 1 qualifying;Freya Christie, Emily Gibbens, Lily Miyazaki, and Lana Rush.
 
Two players – Lily Miyazaki and Lana Rush made it through to Main Draw. Sutton Tennis Academy players continue to climb the rankings! Sutton girls turn up the heat as their rankings continue to improve! Listed below are just some of the latest rankings.
 
Emily Webley-Smith – 241 WTA
 Tash Starling – receives her first WTA ranking
 Yuriko Miyazaki – 459 ITF
 Emily Gibbens – 780 ITF
 Freya Christie – 864 ITF

Emily Webley Smith represents STA at Wimbledon

Emily Webley Smith represents Sutton Tennis Academy at Wimbledon, having received a wild card into main draw. A tough first round playing Klara Zakopalova ranked 35 in the World.

Marion Bartoli prepares for Wimbledon at Sutton – today beating Serena Williams 6/3 7/6

Marion Bartoli continues to progress at this years Wimbledon Championships having just won against Serena Williams 6/3 7/6.  Bartoli has been training at Sutton Academy since the start of the tournament. We wish her best of luck in the Quarter Finals!

Women’s Pro Academy makes a great start in Croatia Grade 4 ITF

A great start for the Sutton Tennis Academy girls who are competing in the Zagreb ITF Grade 4 this week. Sutton players Wallis Vitis and Alannah Griffin won their first matches today. Wallis beat the number one seed who is ranked 170 ITF. Sutton player Lily Miyazaki is next on court. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Alannah Griffin to the Women’s programme here at the Sutton academy along with Antonia Smallbone who both joined us over the last two weeks.Neil Carter – Women’s Head Coach at Sutton Tennis Academy

Ladies $10k event starting today

The Ladies $10K will be taking place here at the academy this week and spectators are very welcome!

 · The Event is the AEGON GB Pro-Series Sutton (Ladies $10K) Event
 - The dates are:
 Qualifying – Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 January 2012
 Main Draw – Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 January 2012
 
· Play starts no later than 10.30 am Monday 16 to Thursday 19 January inclusive and 11.00am Friday 20 to Sunday 22 January inclusive
 
· Entry is free of charge and there is easy access to parking, viewing and catering
